I would like to have iPads to support student learning at home. Our English Language learners have access to the LEXIA learning computer program and several other academic applications. The LEXIA program supports learners that speak all other languages and provides teachers with feedback on what English reading skills they need assistance on. It is suggested to use the program 30 minutes a day and would be effective way for students to continue to grow academically in the summer. In the summer students typically slide and this would be a great way to keep their academic and English skills sharp over the summer. The students typically have several siblings at home that would benefit as well.
