My students are AMAZING! They face many challenges both in and out of the classroom, but manage to work hard and give their best everyday. Too often these children are forced to grow up and deal with things that we as adults would not want to deal with. They live with hunger and wonder where their next meal will come from. Some students come to school with trauma and others are just struggling to learn a new language. They are dealing with anxiety and depression even at the youngest of ages. Despite all these hardships, my kids come to school everyday because they want to be here! They want to learn or just want a place to escape to. They build strong bonds and relationships with their peers and the adults at school. As their teacher, I want to create an environment that will support them and provide them with the tools that will help them to learn!!
