I have chosen Vocabulary and Grammar Bingo and Reading Comprehension Bingo because everyone loves bingo! I will have my students play and discuss why they were able to cover their spaces. This would be a perfect way to end our reading time! The fluency cards will be used with a partner, so that my students will be able to check their own fluency and set goals for improvement. The Vocabulary Practice cards and Match and Sort Literature cards will be the perfect way to end our small group time. The only way that students learn is to be engaged. Students are more likely to be engaged when they are doing something they enjoy.
By donating to my project, you will be helping the students in my classroom be engaged and learning for the entire reading period. The items that I chose will help them gain the vocabulary that will lead to more successful readers. I have chosen games that will make learning vocabulary interesting and will lead to them actually learning the words, not just memorizing dictionary definitions. All of this while working with others! That is a recipe for success!
