Each day I walk into my classroom thinking that today is the day I won't be surprised. I am wrong, always, my kids come to school and surpass expectations and boundaries that anyone has set for them. My school is in a incredibly high poverty area of Aurora, Co. and many of my kids face decisions and issues no person, let alone a child, should have to face. I do my best each day to lift them up and let them know that they are valued. They inspire me to keep going and give my best even though I have days that aren't always so. My students have genuine compassion and curiosity for all things. I am proud to call them mine, even if it is for only a year.
