My students need practice using the technology that will advance their ability to compete in this world. Many of the applications that can help them are designed to be used on a tablet or some other mobile device. Our school district supplies classroom teachers with tablets; however, special area teachers do not have the same access. My students are capable but need the same resources to become more competent learners. One of the characteristics of the modern classroom is collaboration, and having technology in the classroom helps to empower and develop that. With mobile devices, students can easily collaborate both inside and outside the classroom. Having technology like tablets in the classroom can provide opportunities for students to work and excel at their own level and pace. Students can work on their goals independently and maintain a greater focused and become more invested in their learning. I will have the ability to personalize lessons to fit each student’s special needs that will increase my students' confidence and improve my students' overall adaptability to school and life in general.
