Exposing young children to books throughout the school day is critical to their learning. Often times, books are read aloud only during certain parts of the day but not others. Through a new math plan that we are using in Kindergarten, books are used to introduce, practice, or reinforce math concepts and skills! All of the books in this project will help make math concepts come to life! For example, the book "How Tall? Wacky Ways to Measure Height" is a fun way to introduce the concept of height in our measurement unit. Many of my students have a very low exposure to literature outside of the classroom, so through this project, we can help them experience a wide variety of books to help them in their learning of math.
