I strongly believe that many kids (and adults, too!) have a very difficult time focusing all day and working to their full potential when they are not in an environment this is comforting and comfortable to them. The items I have selected for my classroom (stability balance discs for desk chairs, bouncy kick fidget bands for legs of desk chairs, and stability ball chairs) will allow my students to "get the wiggles out" throughout the day while also allowing them to remain at their working areas. They will not lose classroom time by having to go and decompress in a sensory room; they will have all the tools they need for sensory stimulation right at their desks and at our small group work table.
