None of the girls on the team ever cheered before, let alone touched a cheer mat. Currently, my students practice in the dance room with very little flooring support and use two small folding mats for when we tumble or stunt. Through passion and determination, the girls have been able to perform successfully for half-time games, school events, and even local festivals. Our progress has now led the girls to dream big of one day walking onto the World’s mat or the mat of the NCA arena to compete. However, without proper mats, it is unsafe for the girls to practice new skills and stunts with a higher level of difficulty which ultimately makes competing nearly impossible. This donation will allow us to practice on mats that will help build strength, support skills and develop the confidence to become competition ready. The mats will also give the girls the motivation to work even harder and push themselves to chase the ultimate dream. Competition practices on the mats will then provide the optimal environment for them to meet harder challenges, achieve more goals, learn teamwork and of course continue to make life-long friends. Competition is truly a tremendous life-changing and memorable experience that will benefit not only for the girls but the school community as well. I will always stand to inspire my girls that the sky is the limit and to never give up on their dreams. I just want them to see that all the hard work they put it was, in fact, worth it, which is why I'm asking that you stand with me in helping them achieve this dream by generously donating our team your mats.
