I want to give my students access to a variety of books that are both modern and classical. I want students to be able to read books that appeal to all students, not just a few. We need class sets of three different books. I want the books students read to relate to their lives. I want them to be given the ability to read books that are timeless yet still fun and interesting. I want to take students on a journey down the Mississippi with Tom Sawyer and to Germany and Poland with Bruno in The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. I want my students also to have the chance to experience battling monsters with Jacob and Miss Peregrine.
