My students are curious, outgoing, and lovable 2nd graders attending a Title I school in North Carolina. We serve a high minority and low socioeconomic population. Many of my students have limited resources at home. This year my students are learning to love reading. We read every single day and the students are free to choose their own reading materials that interest them. They are exploring many different types of books including fiction and nonfiction texts and learning what appeals to each of them.
