The school consists of approximately 335 students ranging from Pre-K to fifth grade. Of the 335 students, 94% are African American and 6% are Hispanic/Latino. Ninety-nine percent of our students receive free and reduced-price lunch. They may come from some of the most disadvantaged housing projects in the District, but they are enthusiastic about learning! Despite their personal struggles, coming to school is something they look forward to and consider it a safe place.When you ask them about their educational goals, they will tell you technical school or college is in their future. They are caring, compassionate individuals who want to better themselves and help their community.

About my class
