Having real-life, functioning microscopes in our science classroom will boost my students' learning objectives through hands-on learning. Many of the state curriculum standards that we cover in 6th grade science are viewed through a video or read on a piece of paper. As a military veteran who served overseas and helped build schools in Iraq, I now want to help our schools have the best technology so that someday my students will be able to take this information and help disadvantaged children all over the world. Currently we have 3 fully-functioning microscopes that are shared between approximately 200 students. These new cordless compound microscopes will allow easy set up and access while maximizing learning time. Help me boost my students into the 21st century with this valuable STEM equipment.
