The rich and diverse literature sets in this project will engage the readers in my classroom. These texts are high-interest and students will be pulled into various worlds during their reading. Their eyes would be opened to different views, as well as historical and worldly topics. In class, students will participate in book clubs, where they will read texts with a similar theme and participate in authentic learning activities related to the literary elements of each novel. They will be challenged to think deeply with an open mind and to ask questions. I want to gift my students with books that speak to them, books that open their eyes to the world, and books that encourage them to think critically. They will read books about WWII and its long-lasting impacts, cultural diversity, where they will explore differing perspectives, and books that focus on friendship and the importance of building strong character. The learners in my class are eager to grow and would greatly benefit from engaging and diverse reading materials! Please help me encourage a love for reading and learning by participating in my project.
