Our students come from all over NYC to the South Bronx. All of our students are African-American or Latino and nearly 100% receive free or reduced lunch. Even with the challenges they face, our students have grit and hope. The AP Statistics class is comprised of Juniors and Seniors who, like all of their peers, are planning on going to college. they have committed to working hard to reach a passing score on the AP exam next May. They have already given up two weeks of their summers to attend an AP Bootcamp so we can start the year off strong. They have shown a dedication and drive to work hard and succeed in the class. Not only are my students showing that they will be able to be successful in the course, they are also showing character strengths that are an emphasis of the school.
