These students come from a neighborhood of poverty and not many options, yet they want to do better. They have energy and commitment to succeed but need motivation to care about education. Our school levy has been defeated twice and the district has NO MONEY for what "hungry" kids need most--BOOKS! Poverty is real for these students as the majority of them do not have books available to read. Empowering this class of young adults with a tale so rewarding about the underdog becoming victorious could inspire them to overcome the challenges they face! They would love new books!

About my class
