Children learn to read by reading! Access to books on a child's level help them have success as they are learning to read. For the last 8 years, I have taught second grade, and I have great books for second graders! Now that I'm teaching kindergarten though, those second grade books aren't going to help my 5-year-olds learn to read. I plan to use these books to allow my students to learn to read, to foster a love of reading, and to feel success when they read! These new books will be used during independent reading time and in small group lessons where my students work with me on their instructional reading level.
