One may be surprised by the level of team work and empathy found amongst such young students, but our classroom is like a family, and we work hard every day towards academic and personal growth, both in and out of the classroom. My students are hardworking, bright students, from a low income area in California. My school is a Title I elementary school located in a rural area near Salinas, CA. A majority of my students receive free or reduced rate lunch. Many of my students are bilingual and Spanish serves as their native language. Despite many hardships, my students come to school every day ready and excited to learn. They work very hard and love coming to school everyday. Their passion for learning is contagious!
