This year we are really focusing on increasing individualized reading levels through partner sharing, group centers, journaling and increasing individual reading time. By increasing their individual reading levels it will greatly assist them in other areas such as writing, math, science, and social emotionally by boosting their confidence in themselves. These materials will give students the opportunity to easily have their books organized for DREAM time. The materials will give each student their own reading bin to hold books at their just right reading level, books that reading groups can listen to and then practice reading to their partners. These materials will also help prepare them to begin testing in 3rd grade by being at grade level in reading; each student will have their own binder and storage for their binder to review progress, area for growth, journaling and comprehension checks through DREAM time. DREAM is a time when students can practice their fluency, phonological awareness, character development, and discovering their love of reading for learning and fun.
