I'm looking to create a space that involves a thoughtful selection and placement of furniture and physical elements. I need furniture such as chairs and a rug so that the children can have areas where they can be physically at ease so that we can begin working on their emotional ease. I need calm down elements such as lava lamps so that students can feel safe and have their heightened emotions brought down in a healthy way. I need to surround my students with things that are uplifting and make them feel comfortable in order to reach emotional stability. The energy I put into my classroom is what sanctifies it, but the creation of a cozy corner starts with the intention to nurture my students who encounter it.
