The carpet we previously had was so small that all 22 students couldn't fit on it, but this new one has truly transformed our learning space. It has improved the quality of our classroom environment, and the students are more eager to learn than ever! They love sitting on this soft, plush carpet. It helps them feel secure, safe, and special.\r\n I cannot express how deeply appreciative we are for your generosity. By giving from your own heart and resources, you have blessed 22 students and their teacher in a meaningful way. The listening library has truly transformed reading time in our classroom. Many of my students struggle with fluency and comprehension, but with audiobooks, they're able to hear what great reading sounds like—expression, pacing, and tone. This helps them build vocabulary, understand story structure, and develop confidence in their own reading abilities.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading now looks (and sounds!) a little different. You might see students with headphones on, following along in their books as they listen to the narrator bring each story to life. Some gather in small groups to discuss the characters or make predictions about what might happen next. The excitement in the room is contagious—students are eager to dive into new titles each week!\r\n\r\nOne student, who once avoided reading altogether, now can't wait for listening time. She proudly shared that she finished her first chapter book all by herself (with the help of the audiobook). Another student, who is an English language learner, beams as he listens to stories in English and follows along, building his confidence with each session.\r\n\r\nYour support has opened a new world of possibilities for my readers. You didn't just help us get new books—you helped spark a love for stories that will last a lifetime. From all of us, thank you for believing that every child deserves to fall in love with reading.","fullyFundedDate":1691006059594,"projectUrl":"project/open-the-door-to-reading-through-listeni/7396229/","projectTitle":"Open the Door to Reading Through Listening","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sigler","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9057019_orig.jpg?crop=4140,4140,x230,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1684774895566","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-sigler"},{"teacherId":3521357,"projectId":8916759,"letterContent":"I'm so happy I thought about getting my students cups and snacks!\r\nI've often noticed how thirsty students can be after P.E. or even just from arriving at school without having had anything to drink. I know how low my energy gets when I'm dehydrated, and I realized my students were feeling the same way. Many times, I'd see a child at the water fountain drinking for what felt like forever, or I'd be interrupted during a lesson by students asking for water.\r\n\r\nI used to buy water bottles for my classroom, but they would often leak or go unfinished. Once our classroom water bottles and reusable cups were funded, everything changed. I no longer had to worry if a child was thirsty or lacking energy—each student had their own cup to sip from as needed, and the colorful designs made them feel proud and noticed around the school.\r\n\r\nDisruptions decreased, and focus increased. The snacks were a game-changer too! Whether brought in by me or sent by generous parents, snacks kept my students engaged and energized. They worked harder and with more enthusiasm when they had a little something to munch on.\r\n\r\nI am beyond grateful to every donor who helped meet this goal. Because of your kindness, my students are hydrated, happy, and ready to learn.
