My class is grades kindergarten through three life skills. Some of my students are verbal with limited vocabulary usage and others are non-verbal and use PECS or ASL signs to verbalize needs, wants and feelings. My students have disabilities ranging in medical, physical, visual, and intellectual degree. They all eat free breakfast and lunch at our urban MA school. Many of their homes do not speak English and are learning English as a second language. My classroom adheres to a strict routine each day in order to provide the children stability and a sense of safety.
