I have chosen the Vibrating Floor Pad for my classroom in order to provide opportunites to meet my students' sensory needs. Many students with severe disabilities present with sensory impairments and often engage in many forms of behaviors in order to meet their needs. As educators, we work to provide students with appropriate ways to meet their sensory needs in the school environment. It is very difficult to for my students to attend or participate in activities if their sensory needs are not first met. The Vibrating Pad is an excellent tool to use in the classroom to calm students just before beginning an activity by providing proprioceptive input. The Vibrating Pad can also be used to calm students who may become over-stimulated in the classroom environment, which can happen often with children with severe disabilities. The Vibrating Pad will provide both relaxation, as well as muscle stimulation.
