Flexible seating provides both comfort and choice for students. A comfortable learner is an engaged and productive learner. Flexible seating also encourages students to share space with classmates and make their own decisions. Allowing children to make decisions empowers them; today they are choosing their classroom seats, tomorrow they will be choosing the next leader of our country. Children need to move. Movement provides more oxygen to their brains and increases core strength. Flexible seating also allows students to work with many different classmates while traditional seating can be isolating. For all these reasons and more, flexible seating is also proven to decrease unleashed behavior in the classroom.
