Elective courses in our district are a vibrant part of the curriculum. In preparing young minds for a complex world, art and music education teaches collaboration, cooperation, and problem-solving skills that will lead students to success in all aspects of life. Students in my classes have the unique opportunity of participating in band, orchestra, choir, and general music where they discover, appreciate, and value their talents, the talents of others, and the beauty of music. In-band and orchestra, students develop the desire to improve their music performance as well as increase knowledge of music theory, history, and musicianship. They also gain a sense of self-fulfillment by striving to reach their full potential and develop a life-long enjoyment and appreciation of music. Students learn the fundamentals of music through fun, engaging, performance-based activities!
