I recently started teaching a 4th grade classroom that has very little resources. Before teaching my students, they had a substitute teacher and very little learning was occurring. The materials I am asking for will help give my students a more well-rounded educational experience. The math manipulatives will help bring math to life and provide students with the opportunity to understand math concepts much easier. The mouses will help make our laptops more functional. Our laptops are at least three years old so the mousepads don't work as well. We spend so much time trying to use the mousepad instead of focusing on the concepts being taught. Because I am starting at the middle of the year, so many of the school supplies provided at the beginning of the year has been spent and we still need supplies for day-to-day use. I currently teach at a high-needs school so parents have a very difficult time providing more supplies than those that were provided at the beginning of the year. The pencils and pencil sharpener will help me provide students with the bare necessity to have a learning environment.
