My students are 4, 5, and 6 year olds living in an urban area. Some of them come to school facing challenges and living through experiences that are far beyond my imagination... Yet every morning they say, "Good morning!" and dive in to learning. My students have so much potential, but need encouragement and opportunities in order to reach it. Now is when they need to develop a love of school and learning the most. Their kindergarten year will set the tone for the rest of their academic experiences.
