My students are fantastic and my school is an oasis. We are very lucky to have a school that works hand in hand with the neighborhood and community. My students are always ready and willing to try new things and are my partners in the classroom. Their parents are also a very important component of our classroom culture. I have parents in my room nearly everyday, helping out and participating in our learning. Our community also plays a key role in our school and my classroom. We have a garden run by the city across the street that we utilize throughout the year to enhance our science lessons and to give us an outdoor classroom when we need a change of scenery. I am so lucky to be a part of my school community and I love giving back my time and energy to them.
