Number sense is such an important skill that can build the foundation for students in math. This project gives me hands on materials that I can use to help my students conceptually understand what math is and why it works. Being able to build math confidence with hands on materials and visual practice can set students up for success in all math classes. Giving students the opportunity to show what they know with hands on activities is an important part of understanding math. Tens frames and counters are an easy way to allow these opportunities. Fractions and decimals can also be a difficult concept for students so the visuals in this project give a picture for students who might need a better understanding. Help me make learning fun and easy for students who might feel defeated by math!
