As I start year five in the classroom and my second in kindergarten, one thing I've learned is that children need the option to move and get comfortable to maximize their learning. Chairs get boring and uncomfortable. It's unrealistic to expect a five year old to sit in a chair for the majority of the day. These materials will help me complete flexible seating in my classroom. I have crate seats and colorful stools for my kiddos to sit on during center time and at my desk. By funding this project I can get wobble chairs and wobble cushions. These will allow my students to move and gently bounce as they work to release energy and not be a distraction to others.
