I am a 4th Grade Teacher at Mattawan Later Elementary School. This is my 21st year of teaching 4th graders at MLE. I have been reading about and researching flexible seating and the benefits it has for students in the classroom. We are ready to try this and I want to mix-up the seating in our classroom to make it more accommodating to my student's needs. Instead of only offering traditional desks and hard plastic chairs, we will have tables that kids can stand up at, tables low to the ground where students will sit on pillows, and areas to sit on the floor and work on a clip board. I'd like to be able to offer other seating options as well- "Wiggle Seats", "WOBBLE Chairs", and Balance Balls. I am excited to try "Flexible Seating" and I know my students will benefit from it!
