Welcome to our Music Class at Winthrop STEM Elementary School. We are lucky to be a part of a district wide magnet initiative that honors quality education through multiple learning pathways. In our classroom, students explore literacy, science, mathematics, and technology; discovering connections between the creative mind and the impact creativity has on their learning potential through multiple modalities. The Winthrop STEM Elementary School music program strives to bridge the gap between academics and the arts. Students are invited to engage in an active and participatory learning environment that fosters creativity and connection to the larger community. With a grounded curriculum that aligns with National Core Academic and Arts Standards, the Winthrop STEM music classroom serves as a laboratory for exploration of how students learn through how to create, perform, and respond to the world around them.
