Students will use these meters in class to measure dissolved oxygen in a body of water. Initially we will measure the rate photosynthesis of aquatic plants to discuss climate change and the Earth's atmosphere. Later in the school year we will analyze local bodies of water to determine water quality. Students will receive samples of water from throughout the San Gabriel Valley to test. Learning about water quality testing will expose my AP Environmental Science students to potential job opportunities in the water industry. My goal is to teach students science AND teach them about job opportunities in the industry.
