I teach 16 of the funniest, kindest, most creative first-graders on the planet, and I've got another incredible class coming my way in September! These little cupcakes come from such diverse backgrounds-- there are NINE different languages represented in our classroom this year-- and it has been such an adventure to learn as much from these kids as they learn from me. This group of kids is intensely compassionate, hardworking, and open-minded, and I genuinely love being their teacher. Despite the fact that we're right in the middle of what is essentially Washington State's silicon valley, our school serves two large subsidized housing complexes and a third of our student population receives free or reduced lunches. Because our district tends to be perceived as very wealthy, it can be hard to get support for our lower income students. We appreciate you for your interest in education!
