A rug and pillows not only provides a soft place to sit but also helps teach communication skills by using vibrant colors and animals children will recognize. Many of my students need to sit on the floor because they need to move their entire body, which helps improve their speaking/communication skills.Students will enjoy talking about the animals and their sounds and love having a place to go to to work on various speech activities. Pillows also provide soft space to lie/sit and puppets help increase a child's speech and attention. Children's communication skills improve when they move freely and use puppets.
