We are one of 4 schools in a Special Act School District in Westchester County. SpecialAct districts were created to ensure that students unable to attend their local community school districts have EQUAL ACCESS to a public education. Our district serves both residential and day students. All of our students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Our students require significant supports, like one-to-one aides, clinicians and student management staff. My co-teacher and I work in the middle school which focuses on students in 7th and 8th grade. I teach English Language Arts and Social Studies and my co-teacher is responsible for Math and Science. It is my belief that all students can learn, "but not in the same way and not on the same day." Individualization and differentiation help the students achieve their goals. I am committed to making sure that my students have a comfortable and safe learning environment.
