My students are awesome. Most of them hail from the Dominican Republic. Overall, more than 20 countries of origin are represented in my classes. Our school is located in a low income area. Resources are limited. Our textbooks are worn, and the school itself is quite old and run down. Violence is ever present in the surrounding neighborhood. Despite these set backs, my students come to school everyday eager to learn.
