Picture yourself in the hardest math class you ever had. Think about what it felt like to persevere through solving problems and what it took to be successful. Now imagine that your instructor was on a screen or behind a mask while you sat at your dining room table or couch or desk behind a plexiglass partition. We know the power of having hands-on tools to help learners, especially our youngest learners, reason their way through math. This is especially true when their learning will either be a mix of in person and at home, or entirely at home. Having a manipulative library for students and families will help change the way they interact with the math they are learning, and will provide support for all learners. We know the power of discovery and modeling in math learning, and want to provide that opportunity to all families across our whole school.
