I teach a wonderful group of high school students in Harlem, N.Y. A number of my students come from families facing financial difficulties. In order to be the most effective educator, I believe creating learning opportunities that engage each student is very important. All my students must be given the chance to enjoy learning, as they take on a positive and active role in the process. I believe giving students every opportunity to grow academically by creating opportunities for them to be engaged as I relate their learning to real life experiences. It has been my goal to create such possibilities for my students by incorporating the use of various forms of technology in my classroom, from digital cameras and calculators to computers and Ipads. Technology has made the educational possibilities for my students limitless.
