Most of our students come from households that are heavily underserved in a neglected school district. Our district continues to face ongoing challenges due to leadership changes, teachers moving to suburban areas, and declining student enrollment. Our century-old institution, situated in a tough neighborhood, faces neglect that could further hinder students' educational experiences. My students are exceptional and resourceful, but they live in a high-poverty area. Hunger affects their focus, yet their spirits stay resilient. They are ready to face challenges and work toward their potential. Please consider supporting my students' academic performance and motivation by donating to the snack closet. We continually admire their progress as they dedicate themselves, which improves their concentration and engagement in learning.
