We need AP Stylebooks and photojournalism equipment such as telephoto lenses and lens hoods to match the desires of my students to explore the best practices of journalism skills. My students are on their way to building a fantastic new journalism program at our new high school. I am inspired by their drive and desire to learn new skills and our equipment should not limit their creative ideas and aspirations. All it takes for one student's passion for journalism to begin is that perfect photo or story, and this equipment will help them get there. The Stylebooks will help students self-edit their stories and make sure they are written in proper journalistic style. The lenses, hoods, and SD cards will give students the equipment to capture crowd shots, action sports photos, environmental portraits, and more.
