I am the librarian for an elementary school with a fine arts, in a community where approximately 90 percent of our students are at or below the poverty level. For many of our students, English is a second language. Our school has been making great strides towards increasing and improving reading in the community and it shows! Our students love books and reading so much that many are seen reading books during their lunch periods and in the library as they wait for the morning bell to ring. My goal is to keep this love of reading growing and to extend it to a love of all learning!
