The 3rd, 4th and 5th graders are in my classroom for their core content areas. They are all at different academic levels from pre-k to 3rd grade and instruction is based on their abilities and individual education plans. My students really benefit from having hands on materials to learn with and objects to manipulate. I also work with four general education teachers where my students attend some classes such as specials and science. We modify material in those classes in order to make it appropriate and meaningful for the students. I work closely with several different therapists providing speech, physical and occupational therapies as well as social work services. My school is amazing. The general education teachers and administration really support our classroom and do whatever they can to make sure our students are included and can participate with their general education peers.
