The students love and adore the class rabbit. Jeremy hops about the room and uses a small rabbit hutch. Students take turns caring for Jeremy and his hutch. The hutch is falling apart from a year of usage. He needs a new home that will provide him with a better habitat and living conditions. Jeremy is such a loving rabbit, befriending students while they work, who often will pet him while they work. The responsibility of pet ownership teaches my students compassion, empathy skills, and housekeeping skills. Many students are emotionally attached to Jeremy, sitting with him when they are having a 'rough' day. This project will not only improve Jeremy's life, but also help the students to provide better care for him.
