We need mural paint in order to create some murals in our hallways and outdoors. We have several paintings planned, as well as a large tree of kindness, on which we will put up leaves with acts of kindsness written by students. We also want to use the plaster, papier mache and acrylic paint to learn about and create Vejigante masks, which are traditional Puerto Rico masks worn during festivals. These projects will help instill a sense of pride in our students for their school and culture. They will help create the images, as well as paint them on the walls. The students will also learn more about the significance of the Vejigante masks in Puerto Rican culture, as well as actually make masks that will be hung around the school.
