Having a classroom rug will help tremendously with our lessons. In first grade having your own personal space is serious business. A classroom rug will allow my students to have a sense of ownership in a group setting. This will eliminate arguing and invading another person's space. It is important for a student to feel comfortable so they are able to focus on learning. This rug will also provide us with a literacy center. For example, students could match sounds with the correct letter of the alphabet. Another activity my students could use with this rug is putting their spelling words in ABC order. We could really benefit from this rug being in our classroom. It would help academically and socially. Thank you for supporting my students!
