My project materials requested will be used for the student centers in the classroom. Our class has four areas that the children use on a daily basis. They are computers, reading corner, social leisure, and cooking (which is used once a week). Centers-based instruction gives our students the opportunity to experience a fun way of learning that best meets their individual needs! In computer center for example, the desktop computer will be used for the students to practice fine motor skills, such as typing. The Learning Packs will be ideal for Reading Center where the child can read grade level material and practice sorting/matching while working on independent skills as well. Our current Social Leisure area is only missing an area rug for the children to be more comfortable while they participate in their game of choice. Furthermore, the sensory items will help our children with ASD gain the sensory input they crave. Each center and student will benefit immensely from the help received.
