Help me give my students consistent access to the technology needed to succeed in our technology-driven school and workplace environments. What I love about my students is that they are predominantly English language learners from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Teaching and learning English and social studies in this diverse, urban middle school culture is rewarding, as it offers the kind of cultural share that fosters real learning about the people, places, challenges, and resources in our world. Reliable access to hands-on technology gives my students the tools they need as English language learners to access the visual keys to language learning. My students' learning is greatly enhanced by being able to translate their first languages into English and as well as being able to access the realia that allows them to present and share their ideas in digital media formats.
