My students need a nice, comfortable class library where they can focus on their books and build reading stamina. These children are expected to read silently for 20 minutes each school day. That's difficult to do if they're not comfortable! My goal is to create a fabulous reading area where these boys and girls can relax and enjoy the wonders of reading with comfy floor seats, a bookshelf and organizing baskets. A classroom library can only be so helpful if it's not organized. While I have the books, I just don't have the storage materials. It would also be wonderful if I could provide my students with a colorful seating area.
