Having a set of Chromebooks in the classroom will allow my students to access technology to support their learning of science in so many ways. All science students will benefit by having Chromebooks in the classroom and I am just starting to build up a full class set. Students will be able to carry out virtual labs, watch animations and perform simulations in so many areas of science to help support their educational needs. Science Students today learn best using hands-on experiences. Some labs are difficult to do in the classroom so teachers look to technology for assistance. I have students perform simulations and virtual experiments in areas of chemistry, biology, and biotechnology. Students are able to run gels in an electrophoresis virtual lab, clone a mouse, or work on transforming bacteria. Additionally, students are able to collaborate with other students to complete assignments and, new next year, they will work in small groups to "Skype a Scientists" and find out current research being done in the field.
