Students need to move and wiggle. The seating currently available in the library does not encourage movement without the student possible hurting themselves. If the students have flexible seating that allows movement this will cause less distraction. If a child can wobble around on a yoga ball or wiggle on a wobble chair the student can move without falling out of the chair. Movement allows the student to concentrate on what they are reading or working on with full attention. Students are encouraged to work and create together in a collaborative setting. Our library is transforming into a learnings commons where students work and learn. The library is a place for students to come together to explore the world around them. Adding flexible seating will encourage the students learn and explore with less distraction.
